Wyndham City Council’s ongoing commitment to pet-friendly infrastructure introduced a new dog park at Cambridge Reserve in Hoppers Crossing. Its state-of-the-art design have been helped along by the Victorian Government through the Dog Parks Program.
The amenities show a clear progression based on lessons learned from older parks. The design includes:
- A large, fenced lawn area for safe, free roaming.
- An activity space complete with agility equipment.
- “Secure Double Gate Fencing,” a direct improvement addressing the safety concerns noted at parks like Cindia Crescent.
- A full suite of user-focused amenities, including a drinking fountain, seating, accessible concrete paths, a dog bag dispenser, and bins—addressing every shortcoming of the area’s more basic parks.
