Cats are very efficient at producing offspring, which has led to an enormous overpopulation of cats in Australia.
For this reason, we recommend desexing all pet cats at 3-6 months of age, prior to sexual maturity. Desexing will prevent unwanted litters, reduce territorial fighting and minimise some hormonally driven behaviours such as urine spraying and female heat.
Your kitten will need to stay in hospital for the day, but the procedure is relatively straight forward and low risk when performed at a young age.
